Message to post some pics of my trip to Guatemala last month. The rules of the road there mirror Guapo's experience to the letter. I have couple more to add, and they may be due to the fact that I went into some pretty rough areas. I have some rice picture that haven't been scanned yet. Such as a scool bus with a Momo bumpersticker or some sort of VW with Pirreli AND Bridgestone stickers but niether brand of tire was anywhere near the car.

1. Dogs, horses, chickens, pigs and monkeys ALWAYS have the right of way. They don't move for shit. Word of caution: Don't try to get monkeys to move by throwing rocks at them. They throw them right back :( At least I hope it was rocks.

2. You can never be too optimistic when trying to maximize the capacity of the tour van. Who cares if there are only enough spaces for 12 people. You can easily double that if you're creative. Word of caution: Try be the last one in. I was first and had two people on my lap.

3. When travelling by boat, make sure the driver is older than 10. Ten year olds have no fear.

Now for some pics:

Unfortunately for the meat she's not holding her arms like that because she's cold. The USDA would have a field day down there.
